GAYDAR CONMAN GETS 4 YEARS
A British man who used the Gaydar dating network to con victims across the UK over 11 years has been jailed for four years and three months.
Mark Andrew Bishop (37) was found guilty of 11 theft, fraud and deception charges relating to nine men, but it is believed that many other men may have been victims.
Bishop would meet men on social networking and dating sites, gain their trust and convince them to let him stay with them. He would then steal from his victims before disappearing.
Police Constable Anita Barlow from the Gloucestershire Police said: “He created convincing identities and background stories in order to get a place to stay and money to live with. He has left a trail of devastation behind him, using one man for all he can then moving onto his next victim.”
It is believed that Bishop stole around £300,000 (around R3 million) from one man alone.
Police have urged other victims to come forward.
