Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has again come out in support of LGBT teens by appearing in another public service announcement (PSA) supporting a gay youth suicide line.

“I’m Daniel Radcliffe, and I believe that reaching out for help is the bravest thing a person can do,” Radcliffe says in the PSA for the Trevor Project.

“If you are struggling and need support, call the Trevor Lifeline at 1-866-488-7386. It’s free and confidential, and trained counsellors are there to listen 24/7 without judgment.

“To learn more about The Trevor Project’s lifesaving work for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning young people, go to TheTrevorProject.org.”

The video was broadcast during an episode of Glee this week.

Radcliffe has been a long-time supporter of The Trevor Project, the leading organisation providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBT youth in the U.S.

He has said that this is “one of the most important, if not the most important, thing that I’m associated with”.

In 2009, Radcliffe made what was described as a “major” donation to the charity and in 2010 he filmed an earlier PSA for the organisation.

LGBT youth are said to be up to four times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers.
