MAN JAILED FOR PUBLIC SEX IN DUBAI SPEAKS OUT
The gay Scottish man jailed for three years for allegedly having sex in public in Dubai has denied that any sex took place and says he did not confess to the crime.
Paul Brandt (27) was sentenced to three years in prison after a judge found him guilty of having sex in public with Mickey Beley (40), from the Seychelles
They were caught next to a petrol station near Al Garhoud Bridge in February last year after a night out.
Speaking from jail, the IT teacher told The Scottish Sun that the charges again him were trumped up.
“There was no sex involved. It was just a kiss and a cuddle. I am serving a three-year sentence and I have lost my job all because of a kiss. But this is Dubai. I am going to appeal,” said Brandt.
He claimed that he and Beley had been targeted not just for allegedly having sex in public, which is illegal in the emirate, but specifically because they are gay.
He pointed out that similar cases involving heterosexual couples usually see sentences of six months in jail being handed out.
A spokesperson for the United Arab Emirates LGBT group agreed, telling Gay Star News that the jail term is “uneven, excessive and unjustly harsh.”
Brandt also denied reports that he admitted to the crime, insisting that he signed a document in Arabic but did not know what its contents were.
Brandt and Beley were reported to the authorities by a witness who was parked near the petrol station at the time of the incident. The police arrived, gave chase and caught the men.
After serving their time in prison, they will be deported to their respective home countries.
Homosexuality is illegal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which includes the emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah.
Punishment includes imprisonment, fines, deportation, and the death penalty as well as hormone treatment and chemical castration.

And so the Muslims do not disappoint, yet again!!! To be gay man and a Muslim must be a life sentence of misery!!! Also, the anti-gay rhetoric coming from the evangelicals in the USA is as frightening!!
They probably made arrangements to fill up and meet at the petrol station, got out of their cars to greet each other like all of us do, a hug and a kiss on the cheek? And this is a crime of GOD, I am sorry this world is so fucked up and yes, it’s religioun once again, turning people against us the creation of GOD, so to speak. I hope every Muslim family give birth to at least one gay child each and then we see how they deal with their lot. Too much she cried………………..x
