CHRIS EVANS: ‘EMBARRASSING’ THAT GAYS CAN’T MARRY
The Avengers star Chris Evans says that he backs same-sex marriage rights and it’s heartbreaking that gays and lesbians can’t marry in the U.S.
Evans (30), who plays Captain America in what is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, made the comments in a new interview with Playboy.
The hunky actor was asked if he supports gay marriage, and replied: “Are you kidding me? It’s insane that civil rights are being denied people in this day and age.”
He added: “It’s embarrassing, and it’s heartbreaking. It goes without saying that I’m completely in support of gay marriage. In 10 years we’ll be ashamed that this was an issue.”
Evans has been a long-time supporter of the gay community. He has a younger brother, Scott, who is also an actor and is openly gay.
In a 2009 interview with The Advocate, Evans admitted that he had a ‘man crush’ on Brad Pitt.
don’t worry most of us have had a man crush on Brad Pitt*smiley*
