KENYAN CLERIC SLAM AMERICA’S ‘GAY PRESIDENT’

A leading Muslim cleric in Kenya has accused President Obama, dubbed by Newsweek as “the first gay president”, of playing god by backing gay marriage, reports the Daily Nation.

“Simply because he has risen to be the president of a super power does not mean he can now start acting as God,” said Council of Imams and
Preachers Organising Secretary Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa.

“He is nothing in the eyes of God and his plans will not succeed just like those who preceded him in such plans.

“God created man and woman so that we can procreate. How come we now want to behave worse than dogs who do not go for their own gender but know the difference between the two?” said Khalifa while speaking in Mombasa.

Khalifa also slammed the Kenyan National Human Rights Commission, which recently called for the government to decriminalise homosexuality.

Following Obama’s announcement on Wednesday that he supports the right of same-sex couples to marry, Newsweek magazine released the cover of its upcoming issue.

It shows the president looking upwards with a rainbow halo above his head and the headline “The first gay president” .

The headline seems to reference a 1998 New Yorker profile of Bill Clinton which dubbed him “the first black president.”
