ADVERTORIAL: SLAYING DRAGONS

Advertorial

In most companies the sales and marketing departments are constantly devising new strategies to outthink the competition and launch new campaigns that will outwit the enemy.

It takes a lot of stealth and serious planning to get the better of the perceived opponent. And it doesn’t matter what kind of profession you are in; there are always dragons (competitors, auditors, clients, creditors, bosses, etc.) to be slain and we go all out to get them.

On a more personal level, the mirror is my dragon and I have to use guerrilla tactics to beat it or outflank it so that I eventually enjoy looking in it again. The face that often stares back at many of us has developed blotches, lines and wrinkles while we weren’t looking. And it probably started to happened over the last few years, every time we were on holiday looking all gorgeous somewhere on an exotic beach. However, damage that was done then is only now starting to show – and that means war.

This time of the year the tan has well and truly paled and those unwanted irregularities on the skin can’t be hidden behind a tanned appearance, not to mentiond those cute laugh lines that have made themselves permanent residents. Not cool! Time to do something about it – like going to your Skin Renewal clinic for advice. One of their recommendations are likely to be a facial peel.

Depending on your needs, budget and down time available, the severity of your problem and how much time you’re willing to spend to look amazing, you can choose from several different facial peels and treatments.

Home treatment

A word of advice before you start – there will be home treatment involved; the maintenance and the eventual success of the peels and treatments depends on aftercare. The damage wasn’t done in a few days and, although the appearance will have improved, it will take regular skin care at home to make it last.

Very important to remember is that once you have had these treatments, you should never venture out of the house without a good sun block of at least SPF 30. You can go into the backyard in your scants or less if you wish, as long as you have applied sun block to your face and other treated areas at all times.

Piruvex Peel

A Piruvex peel renews the skin by lifting dead cells off the surface and stimulates new cell generation in the basal layer underneath. The result is a healthier surface of the skin. It has been specifically designed for the treatment of wrinkles, photo ageing and skin rejuvenation. A series of these peels will be needed to attain best results, with home care in-between treatments.

Melanostop

This is a combination peel used to treat difficult epidermal pigmentation and the combination of ingredients will inhibit the formation of abnormal melanin pigmentation. It renews the epidermis, increasing its thickness and brightening the skin. It can be used on any patients who have hyperpigmentation, melisma (brown spots) or other dark skin discolourations. It can be used on all skin types, but with caution on darker skin types. It is a gentle peel with little or no down time.

There are many other peels and treatments that are available. These include various Alpha peels, Beta peels, Mask peels, TCA peels and combined peels; each one with its own advantages and treatment areas. In consultation with a doctor at Skin Renewal you can decide on the option that suits you best.

I’ve discussed a few types to give you an idea of what to expect. Now it’s up to you to choose your weapons, gird your loins and go and slay the dragon in its lair! Happy hunting.
