10-YEAR-OLD GIRL WITH 2 DADS WRITES TO OBAMA
The 10-year-old daughter of two gay men has written to President Obama asking him what to do about being teased at school for having two dads.
Sophia Bailey Klugh’s moving and unprompted letter was first published by her parents, Jonathan Bailey and Triton Klugh, on Facebook and was then reported on by The Huffington Post.
In the letter, the young girl thanks the president for stating that it’s okay for two men to love each other but says that having two dads had made her the victim of teasing at school.
Sophia then asks the president what he would do if he were in her place.
Her parents added a comment with the letter on Facebook that read:
“I’ve refrained from all the political posts, but this is just too close to home to ignore. This is not about President Obama — it’s about what’s right. So frankly, if you don’t agree with the innocent, heartfelt and surprisingly straightforward position of my 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, then please unfriend me because we don’t actually belong connected here in the first place.”
Below is the full text of the letter, which also includes a drawing of Sophia’s fathers, “daddy” and “popi”.
“Dear Barack Obama,
“It’s Sophia Bailey-Klugh. Your friend who invited you to dinner. You don’t remember okay that’s fine. But I just wanted to tell you that I am so glad you agree that two men can love each other because I have two dads and they love each other.
“But at school kids think that it’s gross and weird but it really hurts my heart and feelings. So I come to you because you are my hero.
“If you were me and you had two dads that loved each other and kids at school teased you about it, what would you do?
“Please respond!
“I just wanted to say you really inspire me and I hope you win on being the president. You would totally make the world a better place.
“Your friend Sophia
“P.S Please tell your daughters hi for me!”
I’ve been turned to mush that was so disarming!! A better questions should be for those who are parents what are THEY doing for thier kids in this situation; and for those who have yet to be two dads or two moms how will u prepair ur children for a world that hates n fears us… especially when polotics fails us. Somthing to consider for those who have yet to be parents
President Obama’s response to Sophia’ letter is what we expect from a person in politics. I said it in the past and I will say it again homosexuality confuse children and this was evident in the letter send to Obama by little Sophia. This poor little girl is confused and not even the US president could answer this little angel. This girl is not scared of being teased at school, because all children get teased at school, this girl is scared because she cannot answer her friends why she have two dad’, this little girl is looking for help. I am not surprised in Obama’ answer he trying to get the 39 US states who dont recognize marriage to legalize gay marriages. To the governors of the 39 states well done gays, marriage is intended for a man and woman, stick to your principles and dont allow homosexual to curse the states you governing. President Obama is just as confused and double minded as the homosexuals of the world, perhaps he must just get out of the cupboard and admit his a faggort. God will deal with Obama. In this world we have millions of confused children, who dont understand why people of the same sex get be married.
