Here they are! The hot finalists in the ClarinsMEN Mambaonline sexiest male celeb survey of 2012 have been revealed. Cast your vote and you could win great prizes. Simply check out the pictures and bios of the finalists and choose your favourite.

Some of the country’s most revered television stars, sporting hunks, music hotties and other popular male celebrities have made headlines over the past seven years as part of the poll. It’s a fun opportunity for South Africa’s gay community to vote for your favourite local male celeb.

Past winners of the Mambaonline Sexiest Man poll include TV actors Stefan Ludik and Ramey Short, South African supermodel Damien Van Zyl, television presenters Janez Vermeiren and Rowan Cloete, Cape Town actor, surfer, entrepreneur and model, Dene Botha and Afrikaans music star Robbie Klay.

This year’s survey is brought to you by international male grooming brand ClarinsMEN and sees a diverse range of home-grown South African celebs making up the compliment of 11 sexy finalists.

Voting is free and by adding your e-mail address you ensure that you’re in line to win ClarinsMEN hampers, styling Police timepieces, Bone Wear designer underwear, Azzaro Chrome fragrance hampers, Oasis Wellness luxury spa treatments and Meet Gayburg one year memberships. You can vote as many times as you like.

The winner and runners-up will be announced at a glamorous celeb-packed party at Eden Venue. Bar. Lounge in Rivonia on Friday 7 December. Make sure you’re there!

AKA – Rapper / Hip Hop star
Multiple SAMA, Channel O and Metro FM winner AKA (a.k.a Kiernan Forbes) is one of the local music scene’s brightest stars. His hit track Victory Lap was number one for five consecutive weeks on the Metro FM Top 40. This smooth operator is not only bursting with talent but also boasts good looks and, of course, his own very unique sense of style. In fact, last year he was named one of the most stylish men in the country by GQ magazine. We wouldn’t argue with that… You may be interested to know that he was happy to take part in our 2012 sexiest man poll – a breath of fresh air in the traditionally macho and homophobic Hip Hop scene.

We pride ourselves on uncovering gems before they hit the big time and we reckon Armand is well on his way. This 24-year-old dark, handsome and intense looking actor is worth watching out for. He studied acting and has since appeared on various TV shows (including the lead in Here’s to Good Times), in theatre productions such as The Taming of the Shrew and Othello and a host of TV commercials. When he’s not walking the boards or doing in his thing in front of the camera, he spends his time playing squash and rugby, horse riding, hiking, singing and playing the piano and guitar.

CHAD LE CLOS – Olympic medal winning swimmer
Is there anything more that could be said about South Africa’s newest golden boy? Actually, if it was up to us we’d never shut up about Chad. This gorgeous cutie swam into international fame thanks to his gold in the 200 meter butterfly and silver in the 100 meter butterfly at the 2012 Olympics in London. Women and gay men around the world continue to swoon at his stunning twink good looks and beaming smile; one that could easily melt any of his medals. At only 20 years of age we can’t decide if we’d like to date him or adopt him. This Durbanite is taking the world by storm – and we couldn’t be prouder.

FAF DU PLESSIS – National cricketer
Francois “Faf” du Plessis has impressed the world with his cricketing skills; playing both internationally for teams such as Lancashire and Chennai Super Kings as well as for the South African national side. Faf was one of four uncapped players to be named in South Africa’s 30-man preliminary squad for the 2011 World Cup and was also selected as one of the five South Africa Cricket Annual’s Players Of The Year. As you can see, this 28-year-old Pretoria boytie is also a rugged hottie of note, with a wickedly naughty smile; a deadly weapon that should, in our opinion, immediately make his opponents go weak at the knees.

GREGG HAMMOND – Model & reality TV star
Gregg first came to our attention as a winning contestant in the first season of Come Dine With Me South Africa, leaving us literally drooling over his tight bod. (Food, what food?) We now know that this 24-year-old Joburger is the face of Hugo Boss SA, has graced the cover of Men’s Health magazine (in SA and Germany) and was last year chosen as Cosmopolitan’s Sexiest Man of the year. He’s studied law, but has thankfully not abandoned modelling for the stuffy confines of a court. This year saw him competing in the Bar-One Manhunt reality show on SABC 3. Aside from playing in the South African national touch rugby league, Gregg also runs, cycles and rows to keep in shape. It’s effort that’s clearly paid off.

JONATHAN BOYNTON-LEE – Top Billing Presenter
The winner of the recent My Top Billing Dream competition, Jonathan Boynton-Lee is charming TV audiences on the glam lifestyle show with his smooth delivery, sharp style and good looks. Not only is he stunning in front of the camera, both as a model and TV host, he’s also a real talent behind the scenes. An award-winning television commercials director, Jonathan recently co-directed his first feature film, Jozi Kings, and plays the piano and paints for good measure.

LANCE WEYER – Mr. Gay SA 2011 & politician
A politician, academic and human rights activist, Lance was born and raised in East London in the Eastern Cape. He currently serves as a Democratic Alliance Proportional Representative Councillor in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. He’s also possibly the hottest and buffest politician in the land and most certainly the only one to win the 2011 Mr. Gay SA title and to come second in this year’s Mr. Gay World competition. He actively supports the Eastern Cape Gay and Lesbian Association and writes passionately about LGBT issues. Despite rocking a body worthy of an underwear model, he remains humble and accessible. Sometimes, nice guys do come first…

  LEE-ROY WRIGHT – Actor  & TV / radio presenter
Lee-Roy is a 24-year-old entertainer with a killer smile. He hosts two daytime magazine shows on Etv’s Youth programming block, Craz-E: Frenzy and the channel’s only daytime live magazine show, Craze World Live. He’s a radio personality; part of 94.7 Highveld Stereo’s on air team for the past two years. Lee-Roy is also an actor and has appeared in the British TV series, Wild At Heart and numerous TV commercials. In 2008, he won People Magazine’s Crystal Award for Best Youth Presenter. Lee-Roy enjoys the outdoors and spending time with nature. We reckon we’d enjoy spending some time with him – in nature, and pretty much anywhere else.

Lehasa Moloi is one of South Africa’s rising stars – blessed with any easy yet cheeky sensuality we can’t help but love. A down to earth hottie, he’s taken the local entertainment scene by storm – appearing in TV ads, shows like Muvhango and Isidingo and on stage for productions such as Master Harold and the Boys. His biggest coup to-date was landing the role of PJ Luthuli in the local hit film Spud, based on the bestselling book. Lehasa is also a TV presenter and you can catch him on ETV’s Mgongo By Sony every Wednesday. He lists his interests as practicing aikido, singing, rapping and beat boxing and apparently has a flair for bar tending. Lehasa, please pour us a stiff one!

  MAX MMETHI – Model
Seriously, after checking out these pictures, do we need to even say anything about Max Mmethi? Probably not, but you may still be interested to know that he’s the only model to have appeared on the cover of Men’s Health six times. Max was also one of Cosmopolitan South Africa’s sexiest men of 2008. He became a model in 2002 when he was scouted at a shopping mall in Cape Town while serving in the navy. Since then he’s graced covers and magazine fashion spreads and appeared in television and print ads. Oddly, he owns a hairdressing salon in Pretoria. The military’s loss is undoubtedly our gain!

  TY KEOGH – Actor
Ty Keogh has been driving us wild as a star of the very appropriately named TV series, The Wild. Born in Joburg to a showbiz family, he began working on film sets at 14. It soon became clear he should rather be in front of the camera and was cast in local and international commercials. He scored roles in flicks with stars such as Joseph Fiennes, Meg Ryan and, notably, Leonardo DiCaprio in Blood Diamond. Since The Wild, he’s won the CLEO 2011 bachelor of the year, was Mr April in Cosmo’s 2012 calendar and was recently voted the sexiest male celeb at the You Spectacular Awards. He’s also a sharp dresser; being named a top 10 finalist in the GQ best dressed awards. In his spare time he collects art and furniture and enjoys decorating and woodwork. We rather like a stud who’s good with his hands…
