ELTON JOHN WELCOMES SECOND SON

Singer Sir Elton John (65) and his husband David Furnish (50) are fathers for the second time following the birth of Elijah Joseph via a surrogate mom.

The little boy was born on Friday January 11 in Los Angeles. It is believed that the celebrity couple used the same surrogate who gave birth to their first son, Zachary, two years ago.

“Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable. The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way,” they told HELLO!

“It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement,” they added.

In April last year, Furnish told London’s Evening Standard that they were planning to arrange to have a sibling for their first born

“I think he would be better with a sibling than on his own,” Furnish said at the time. “We could go back to the same egg donor, so biologically there would certainly be a connection between brother and brother or brother and sister.”

When Zachary was born on Christmas day in 2010, some critics accused John and Furnish of seeing a baby as “a designer accessory”.

The couple have been together since 1993, and entered into a civil partnership on 21 December 2005.
