Shrien and Anni Dewani

It’s been revealed that murder suspect Shrien Dewani described himself as gay, not bisexual, on his Gaydar profile.

On Monday, Simon Johnson, a former employee of Gaydar, testified in the Western Cape High Court about the British millionaire businessman’s dating profile.

Even through the profile was deactivated a week after his wife Anni’s murder in 2010, Gaydar was still able to retrieve it.

According to News24, Johnson said that Dewani chose to tick the “gay” option on his profile and not the “bisexual” field.

He also listed himself as single, as not being out and was looking for other single gay and bisexual men.

It was reported that Dewani described himself as both a “passive sub guy” and a “dominant active guy, fairly arrogant, likes to train up young subs.”

While he at first denied claims about his sexuality, Dewani has since told the court that he is bisexual and confirmed that he had sex with other men, including an S&M rent boy.

Dewani’s sexuality appears to be a key component of the state’s case, which is expected to argue that as a deeply closeted gay man he had his wife murdered in order to get out of the relationship.

He is facing five charges related to hiring men to kill Anni in a staged hijacking while on honeymoon in Cape Town; charges which he denies.

It was earlier revealed that Dewani logged onto Gaydar just two days after Anni’s murder, using the name ASIANSUBGUY, and that he logged onto the gay hookup fetish site Recon around the same time.

Dewani also admitted that he accessed Gaydar, with Anni at his side, at OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg while waiting for a flight to Cape Town.

Francois van Zyl, Dewani’s lawyer told the court that, “The fact that he was signed on Gaydar does not mean he was looking for a date. He could be checking or sending messages.”

Van Zyl also said that he would be able to present evidence to show that Dewani’s sister, Preyal, had closed the profile using his user name and password.
