The seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is set to take things to a whole new level with a bevy of attitude-spitting queens and a host of celebrity judges, included Mel B and Ariana Grande.
More details about the anticipated new series of the reality drag competition were revealed on Wednesday, including the new star-studded guest judging panel.
You can expect Spice Girl Mel B, singing sensation Ariana Grande, pop star Demi Lovato and R&B singer Tamar Braxton as well as actresses Jessica Alba, Kat Dennings (Two Broke Girls), Alyssa Milano and Rebecca Romjin (X-Men).
Other celebs who’ll be deciding the fate of the new batch of drag queens include Kathy Griffin, Michael Urie, Olivia Newton-John and fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi.
They’ll join RuPaul (of course) and Michelle Visage on the panel, as well as two new permanent judges (replacing Santino Rice), namely Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley and squeaky comedian Ross Matthews.
“Yes, Virginia, there is a gay Santa Claus!” exclaimed RuPaul. “I asked for a new, wickedly funny, smart and experienced judge…and I got two! Ross and Carson are the perfect addition to the RuPaul’s Drag Race family because they’re not just show biz experts, they’re superfans and longtime lovers of the art of drag.”
Kressley said it was a thrill to be a judge on season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. “The wigs, the lashes, the gowns — but enough about us judges – the girls this season are so ‘sickening,’ it’s the best season yet!”
Mathews added: “I have never been more qualified to do anything in my entire life. As quite possibly the biggest super fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race in the entire galaxy, I take my position as a judge very seriously and will proudly serve as a voice for my fellow super fans – albeit, a very high-pitched voice.”
The new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race kicks off in the US on Monday, March 2. Watch the teaser below to meet this year’s line-up of sassy contestants.
