The Tshwane man who was last week thought to be missing has been found and is back home.

Leon Serfontein, 30, was reported missing on Tuesday after he was last seen drawing money from an ATM at a shopping centre in the east of Pretoria.

Mambaonline was contacted by a concerned friend to ask the LGBTI community to help find Serfontein.

It was initially feared that he may have been abducted for the cash, but it was later discovered that he had left Gauteng of his own volition.

According to the Pretoria East Rekord, his partner, Daniel de Bruyn, revealed on Thursday that Serfontein had bought a bus ticket to Port Elizabeth and left without telling anyone.

He said that this may have been because he found himself in financial difficulties at work.

De Bruyn confirmed to Mambaonline on Monday that Serfontein was safe and had returned home. He didn’t wish to comment any further on the matter.

Police have closed the missing person’s case.
