The public will have the opportunity to support their favourite contestant and add their voice to help choose South Africa’s representative in the Mr Gay World™ Competition in 2020.

The top 12 finalists of Mr Gay World South Africa 2019 will be announced on Saturday 26 October 2019 during Johannesburg Pride.

This will be followed by a selection process, based on public voting (online), judges’ voting and adjudication and engagement on various social media platform based on criteria set out by the competition’s directors and board.

“The Mr Gay World South Africa competition is about searching for a well-groomed, well-spoken and truly representative individual who will do us proud in the upcoming Mr Gay World™ Competition in 2020,” said Antonie Pieterse, National Producer for Mr Gay World South Africa.

The current Mr Gay World South Africa is Chris Emmanuel, a gym owner from Knysna. In May he competed in the Mr Gay World 2019 pageant in Cape Town, which was won by Janjep Carlos from the Philippines.
