Wait, so is Somizi having a THIRD wedding?

Can too much be too much? Somizi Mhlongo has announced that he and husband Mohale Motaung are planning to tie the knot for the third time in an overseas location.

The lovebirds appeared on Metro FM on Friday to celebrate Valentine’s Day when they dropped the bombshell after DJ Mo Flava asked Somizi why they had not yet gone on a honeymoon.

The Idols SA judge responded: “We decided not to because we are investing in a new home. And then we’re honeymooning in April. We’re going to Dubai and Coachella.”

He added: “And then we’re planning our third wedding in July in Italy.” (Let’s hope their now near-impoverished guests can afford to cough up for a destination wedding!)

The couple also revealed that they have around 500 pairs of underwear, that they don’t snuggle much in bed and that Somizi sleeps on the right side of the bed and Mohale (who apparently sweats a lot) sleeps on the left.

Somizi insisted that marriage will not change their relationship. “We promised each other we’re not gonna stop jolling. Nothing is going to change. Nothing, except the paper! We are still going to be friends; we are going to hang out together, we are going to travel together, we are going to do everything that we’ve done from the beginning until we die.”

He continued: “So for me, marriage is keeping to your promise, and making sure that you don’t change what led you to get married.”

Mohale said that communication is vital to keep a relationship healthy. “That counts to making sure that the next person knows exactly how you feel because I can’t expect Somizi to know that if I am quiet this morning, it means what?”

The duo first got married at a lavish traditional wedding in Kibler Park in Johannesburg in September 2019. They then had a second spectacular ‘white wedding’ in Muldersdrift last month, where the guests were instructed to only wear red-soled shoes, traditionally produced by luxury brand Christian Louboutin.

Those two ostentatious nuptials will be featured in South Africa’s first gay celebrity wedding special, titled Somizi & Mohale: The Union. The four-part series runs from 24 February till 16 March 2020 on Showmax which means that the couple’s third wedding in Italy will not be included (perhaps there’ll be a second wedding special?).
