This year’s MCQP (Mother City Queer Project) – Africa’s biggest annual costume party – was held at the Zip Zap Circus in the Cape Town CBD. The theme, The Musical, had everyone dressing up according to various popular musicals; from Cats to Hairspray.
There were a range of dancefloors, performers, live acts, Queen’s VIP area and many bars manned by gorgeous barmen. The outdoor area was filled with marquis tents and Bedouin style stretch tent areas.
The unusually early daytime start (2pm) was slow and hot but by nightfall the party was in full swing. The vibe was great and it was an amazing MCQP party overall.
