Zac Efron talks gay rumours

Boy hunk and High School Musical star Zac Efron was rushed to hospital this week. No, apparently it wasn’t because of an emergency nose-job, drug overdose, mental breakdown or any other traditional celebrity medical crisis. It seems the 20 year old was in dire need of an appendectomy. We’re relived here at Mamba Mansions to hear that he’s well on the way to recovery. In related news, the heartthrob is on the cover of the latest issue of Details magazine – looking mighty fine. In the related interview the actor discusses the insinuations by bloggers such as Perez Hilton that he is gay: “I know it’s very addictive to read that kind of stuff. It’s entertainment. Perez has obviously struck a chord in the public eye. He’s doing something right. That deserves admiration—I think he does a great job. Um… Honestly, if the worst he can say about me is that I’m gay, then I think I’ll be fine. I can handle it.” Hmm, good answer. Although we notice he doesn’t really deny those rumours…

George to spill the beans

It’s been reported that pop-singer turned chronic dope-head George Michael has agreed to write a “no-holds-barred” autobiography. He’s signed a multimillion-pound deal with HarperCollins – said to be one of the biggest deals in UK publishing – to spill the dirt on all his scandalous antics. And we’re sure that other celebs will come into the picture. HarperCollins added that the book will be written by George himself and not a ghost writer as some less literary stars are wont to do. Added Michael’s manager, Andy Stephens, George has promised HarperCollins a no-holds-barred biography, and it’s certain to be just that. People aren’t stupid, they’re beginning to notice that the truth is more interesting than the stories the press come up with.” Indeed. We look forward to this read – and the resulting lawsuits!

David’s giant crotch

To mark the launch of Milan Fashion Week Armani erected a huge billboard in the middle of the city emblazoned with an image of David Beckham promoting the fashion label’s underwear. Apart from wondering if this led to a sudden spike in that intersection’s accident rate, we were intrigued about how Victoria would respond: “I’m proud to see his penis 25 foot tall. It’s great. It’s huge. It’s enormous. Massive. If I looked like that I’d walk down the street in my panties too,” she is quoted as saying. We guess that when it comes to how David compares to his billboard version no one knows better than she. Lucky girl…

Janet gets some Discipline

Janet Jackson is about to drop (as they say in the biz) her new CD titled Discipline in late February. This, apparently, is the cover. Growl… We like it! With a new label and a host of fresh producers she’s hoping this album will see her recover from the sales disaster that was her last music release, the disastrous flop 20 Y.O.

Cosmo calendar model’s secret past…

We wonder if the Spanish edition of Cosmopolitan magazine was aware that one of the tasty models featured in its 2008 calendar is a man with a gay porn background. At the time of publication, probably not – but they do now! Mr. June, aka Milan Gamiani, a New Yorker living in Spain for the last five years is well known in certain circles as the very hot star of around a dozen gay adult films made for porn studio Lucas Entertainment. He’s also been the subject of numerous steamy photo sessions in which he exposes (much) more than his pecs. Trust us, he does make an impression. Feel free to Google him for more revealing images…

Spotted

…X-Men actor Hugh Jackman walking on the beach in Sydney. Again. If you like that “real man” type, then look no further than this hunky specimen.

…Kim Cattrall groping the very fine ass belonging to co-star Jason Lewis (recently seen in Brothers & Sisters) on the set of the Sex And The City movie – no doubt for a scene in the film. Okay, this probably happened a while ago (the movie’s finished shooting) but the pics only hit the net recently.

Gay sci-fi star slams closeted actors

American actor John Barrowman, starring in the BBC sci-fi television show Torchwood (a spinoff of the Doctor Who series) produced by the creator of Queer as Folk, has slammed other gay actors for not coming out the closet. The sexy John, who is openly gay and plays the bisexual time-travelling character Capt. Jack Harkness in the show, says that “If it has been a problem, no one ever told me so. I know people who lie about being gay because they think it will affect their work chances. That is just sad.” John is in a civil partnership with his long term partner Scott Gill. Unlike the family-friendly Doctor Who, Torchwood has no problem showing man-on-man smooching between Barrowman and other male actors. It’s about bloody time sci-fi got a little more pink…
