FIRED HIV+ GAY MAN SUES MCDONALD’S

Advertorial

A gay HIV positive American man is suing a McDonald’s fast food restaurant claiming that he was fired because of his HIV status and sexuality.

Daniel Carver, 46, from Iowa has filed a complaint with the state’s civil rights commission, which has approved his right to sue the restaurant.

Carver, who has since filed a lawsuit in the Dubuque County District Court, claims that he was also physically and verbally abused by the manager of the restaurant in Dyersville.

He has alleged that the manager punched him in the stomach, a fellow employee called him a “faggot rat” and that he was slapped with a piece of cheese. He claims that the discrimination escalated into death threats from fellow employees, reports The Iowa Telegraph Herald.

Iowa law protects employees from being discriminated against on the basis of their sexuality or their HIV status.

The owner of the restaurant has denied the claims.
