Pop phenomenon Lady Gaga will take part in a massive lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality march which is planned to take place in Washington this weekend.
Gaga made the announcement yesterday at a fundraiser for the National Equality March, which aims to “demand equal protection in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states”.
“I really believe in this cause, and as a woman in pop music I think that this is really an important weekend, and it’s not a fucking joke. So get your asses to D.C. and wear something fabulous, and I’ll see you guys there,” the Poker Face singer said at the event in New York City.
The march will begin at noon and end on the west lawn of the Capitol building on Sunday in the American capital.
A rally will commence around two hours later and will feature “three hours of inspirational speeches and music”.
