  1. Flowers. I know the intention with the flowers, but do the serve their purpose in this case? Sure the flowers will just be taken and used in the embassy and the sentiment and message will be ignored just like the gays rights in their country.

  2. What a turnout. I am really disappointed at the Pretoria and Joburg gays that shone in their absence there, yet I can bet you that the clubs will be packed on Friday and Saturday, so there actually is way more of us around. With that said, I am from Joburg as well, and could not be there because of work, as I am sure many others were, plus to get to Pretoria on a weekday is not that easy, so that is understandable. Yet, I am sure that there are much more than just the 10 people that could afford to get there over their lunch time, for something as important as this…

      1. seriously. how crazy is this. the man gets murdered by an ex-f**k who he promised gifts too which never happened.
he happens to be a gay activist.
now you expect us to attend a vigil for a victim of domestic voilence – why just because he is gay?
where was your vigil organised when our own lesbian south africans get murdered and correctively raped.
why not put your time and energy into a real gay issue which is affecting our sisters in OUR OWN COUNTRY.
but you waste your energy and critise with “tribeca is mos lekkerder”
you dont have much of a clue
but it was maybe a good publicity pic for mr gay sa. maybe he should use his sash to bring attention to our south african issues- huh, what do you think
        ridiculous

  3. The Intention Is Good BUT…. I do get that everyone there had good intentions to further gay rights and morn the loss of an advocate. However; I don’t see the point of placing flowers outside the home of the oppressor. Sure, the Ugandan Embassy in SA in just as homophobic as it’s government back home?

I think the best way to help further gay rights is by contributing strategically and financially to gay rights advocate groups in Uganda and other countries where the LGBT community is afforded no rights.

  4. Every Bit helps. I think it was a great idee, yes mot allot of people did go. And yes sure the flowers will just be removed. But its a start. Just to show them, no, we will not stand back or be scared. We support one another!

    1. pathetic. it’s like a little band of false do-gooders. they really have not clue at all but get together pat themselves on the back and pour scorn on the rest of the community for not reacting like them.
in a earlier post “rudi” actually says “maar tribeca is mos lekkerder” – what a piece of judgemental crap! i used to support the whole mr gay sa thing – not anymore.
      false platic and shallow

  5. DAFT Dafter Daftest. Rather have the boy parade in skimpy underwear – that will get some media attention but do not be so DAFT as to have the boy lay flowers in front of the fuckn Ugandan High Commission. The poor boy! Does he even understand what the organizers are making him do? LOL Any way, thanks for choosing such a hottie! xxx
