Singer Chris Brown has lashed out at the media, insisting that reports that he made new anti-gay comments are untrue.

Star magazine claimed that during a friendly basketball game at an LA fitness centre the agitated 22-year-old spewed homophobic slurs, such as “faggot”, at some players.

“He got really ticked off when things didn’t go his way during the game, saying, ‘That’s gay!’ and ‘You’re a f—-t a–!’ to the other players,” an eyewitness reportedly told Star.

Brown, however, has denied the claims on Twitter.

“Believing everything the media says only makes us stupid as a society. Iget it now, the media doesn’t make enough money stalking and falsifying stories on other celebs so they continuously f**k wit [sic] me,” he tweeted.

A spokesperson for Brown also said that the article was “totally fictitious”.

“The incident described did not occur, nor did the Star ever contact Chris’ representatives to request comment or confirmation,” he said, adding that legal action against the tabloid was being considered.

Last month, Brown was criticised for using the word “gay” as an insult against paparazzi photographers.

He tweeted in response at the time: “I have total respect for Gay community and my intention was not to insult anyone in it.”
