Joburg Pride has urged the LGBTI community to take part in a survey which, it says, aims to collate constructive criticism to improve the event.

The Joburg Pride board said that previous attempts to gauge the community’s opinions through an annual general meeting (AGM) were not successful as “only a few members of the community attended the AGM”.

The survey is hosted on the Joburg Pride website and asks respondents about their satisfaction with various elements of the event – from the toilets and parking to the standard of entertainment.

“Through this survey we are attempting to start dialogue within the community and keep it going!” said the board.

“We would like to get constructive feedback from you – tell us what you loved and what you think can be improved. We will take this information and what we can implement for 2011 we will. All ideas and comments will be considered and tabled.”

Joburg Pride is the oldest and biggest Pride event in Africa and will take place on the 1st of October. Click here to take the survey.
