Pop star Adam Lambert has denied that any punches were thrown in a club brawl that saw him and his boyfriend arrested in Finland.

According to reports, Lambert (29) and his boyfriend, Finnish ‘Big Brother’ winner Sauli Koskinen (26), were celebrating the holidays at a Helsinki nightclub with former Miss Helsinki Sofia Ruusila on Thursday.

A lovers’ spat ensued between the two men and led to their ejection from the club. It appears that this did little to subdue Lambert who continued the argument and, it was claimed, accidently hit Ruusila, who was trying to break up the fight.

The police were called and Lambert and Koskinen were arrested and held in a cell for a number of hours before being released.

After their release, Koskinen tweeted: “Celebrities are people too and fame is not easy. Love is not always easy either, but it’s forever.”

Lambert also tweeted a muddled comment, saying: “Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned.Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :)”

Later, Lambert clarified: “Violence is not to be taken lightly. Embarrassed by drunkenness. No punches thrown, no injuries and no charges. Media always exaggerates.”

Lambert is releasing his second studio album Trespassing in March.
