Katy Perry has released the stunning new music video for her hit self-empowerment anthem Roar.
The colourful and upbeat clip sees Perry stranded in a jungle after a plane crash with a vain male counterpart, who is quickly dispatched by a tiger.
She soon goes on to become a Tarzan-like queen of jungle, with a twist; taming the tiger, painting an elephant’s toe-nails and all manner of other entertaining silliness.
Filmed in “Junglescope” the video has been viewed almost two million times in a space of day.
Roar has knocked Robin Thicke’s massive hit Blurred Lines off the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
The song is included in Perry’s third studio album, Prism, which will be released next month.
Perry is a long-time supporter of the gay and lesbian community.
