Jamie Dornan, who’s landed the role of Christian Grey in the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey, has shown off his physique for Interview magazine.
Surprisingly, the sizzling 32-year-old Northern Irish actor – who posed in his underwear for photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott – revealed that he’s not happy with his body.
“I don’t like my physique,” Dornan told Interview.
“Who does? I was a skinny guy growing up, and I still feel like that same skinny kid.”
He explained that even though his modelling and acting stints have often featured him shirtless, “I don’t really have choices in the material I get. So I have to make the choices in the way I play the characters. And I’m happy to get a chance to play Christian.”
Dornan was seen as more of a model than actor until he wowed audiences and critics with his performance in the British TV crime series The Fall, which saw him being nominated for a British Academy Television Award for Best Actor.
“I don’t want to be showy,” Dornan said about his acting “I’m not interested in seeing that, and I don’t want to do it. I’ve played a lot of broken people. Maybe the silences are about the different kinds of vulnerability in all of them.”
Dornan is married to English actress and singer-songwriter Amelia Warner, with whom he had a baby girl late last year. He was cast as Christian Grey in the film adaption of the best-selling novel after Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the production.
Fifty Shades of Grey is set to be released in early 2015. See more pictures of Dornan’s Interview photo shoot below.
