Shaun Murphy and Diaan Daniels surrounded by their bridesmaids
Following Top Billing’s coverage of its first ever gay wedding earlier this year, the lifestyle magazine show has featured another same-sex wedding this week.
In April, the programme – which often profiles the nuptials of local celebrities and high flyers – celebrated the wedding between internationally acclaimed fashion designer Gert-Johan Coetzee and his partner Vicky Visagie.
Now, it’s the turn of wedding and evening wear designer Diaan Daniels, who’s dressed the likes of Springbok rugby wing Odwa Ndungani, R&B star Loyiso Bala, singer Kurt Darren, and actress and model Corine Du Toit for their special day.
Seeing as Daniels is an authority on weddings, his own to theatre director and choreographer Shaun Murphy was destined to be an extravagant affair.
The two met six years and getting married was simply a matter of time – and that time arrived at the end of last month. The Top Billing team were there, of course, to capture the event near Wolmaransstad on camera for the rest of us.
The colour scheme was black and white, and the ceremony reflected the personalities of the two grooms. There were feathers, textured fabrics, and plenty of bling, all topped by Afrikaans performer Nianell singing for the boys.
