Jaden Smith says clothes have no gender
In a new interview with British GQ Style, Jaden Smith has spoken out about his gender-neutral take on fashion.
The 17-year-old actor (Karate Kid, After Earth) and rapper is the son of Hollywood stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith
He’s been making a splash with his gender blurring sense of style of late and in January was named the face of Louis Vuitton’s women’s wear.
In his interview with the men’s magazine, Jaden said: “I feel like people are kind of confused about gender norms. I feel like people don’t really get it.
“I’m not saying that I get it, I’m just saying that I’ve never seen any distinction.”
Jaden added: “I don’t see man clothes and woman clothes, I just see scared people and comfortable people.”
The rising style icon revealed that he aims to change the world as we know it – and not just by challenging our ideas around gender and fashion.
“I really just want to create a utopia on this planet,” he revealed.
“I really want to make it so that people don’t have to die to pay bills and just work to survive. So that they can work to actually live and do the things that they love to do.”
Idealistic and naive? Perhaps, but it sure is refreshing to come across a young star who’s about more than brainlessly racking up followers on social media. We’re keeping our eyes on Jaden…
Oh my – they do get worse by the day !
Vile beyond words !
