In Pictures: Johannesburg Pride 2025 – Gallery 1

Johannesburg Pride 2025 turned Sandton’s Katherine Street into a dazzling sea of colour, courage, and community on 25 October 2025. Thousands of LGBTQIA+ South Africans and allies poured into the Pride Village, transforming the heart of South Africa’s economic hub into a vibrant space for visibility and celebration.

As the day unfolded, the atmosphere grew electric when government and civic leaders took to the stage to show their solidarity. Deputy Minister Steve Letsike and Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero delivered impassioned speeches reminding the crowd that queer South Africans belong everywhere. Their presence sent a powerful message: that Pride is not just a party, but a statement of belonging and resistance.

The afternoon march that followed captured the diverse spirit of South Africa’s queer community — from activists calling for global solidarity to couples proudly walking hand in hand. Every banner, chant, and smile told a story of resilience and hope, marking a memorable day for queer visibility in the City of Gold.
