Brad’s surprising underwear cover picture…
Brad Pitt wasn’t too impressed when he found out that one of the arty images – in his underwear nogal – which were taken by video artist Robert Wilson was on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. The magazine says that it was doing a story on the artist and decided to use a photo taken from the video portrait of Brad. Apparently, he had signed a release allowing Wilson to use the images to publicise the project – but it seems he didn’t think that they’d be used to sell magazines. Brad was allegedly sent a letter informing him of the cover, but claims he never got it. Lawyers are looking at Brad’s options; his representative releasing a statement saying that, “We are very disappointed that Vanity Fair has chosen to put an unauthorised cover on their magazine. It seriously makes me question their integrity and motives.” We, however, at not at all disappointed that he have another opportunity to see Brad in his boxers.
Doogie Howser come out the closet!
Was he pushed or did he jump? Some of you may have already heard, but the news is worth repeating for the uninformed. Doogie Howser has FINALLY come out the closet! It was a very badly kept secret but actor Neil Patrick Harris has decided to reveal that he bats for our team. The revelation came after a tabloid report claimed that Neil had helped a male love interest get acting work. Neil’s representative responded by issuing a statement saying that he was “not that way inclined”. This unleashed a torrent of outrage from everyone who knew that he was VERY much that way inclined. Websites and tabloids went all out asking for his exes to come forward. Unsurprisingly, Neil then decided to come clean. The 33 year old actor told PEOPLE magazine that, “The public eye has always been kind to me, and until recently I have been able to live a pretty normal life. Now it seems there is speculation and interest in my private life and relationships. So, rather than ignore those who choose to publish their opinions without actually talking to me, I am happy to dispel any rumours or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love.” Neil remains best known for his role as the teenage doctor in the TV series Doogie Howser, M.D. We’re of course ecstatic that another man has been liberated from the closet; it’s just a pity that it seems that he had to be pushed.
Survivor’s Danielle “not a lesbian”
While Neil Patrick Harris fell out the closet, another celeb has denied rumours about her sexuality. Survivor South Africa contestant Danielle Vukic has said that she’s fed up with suggestions that she’s a lesbian. “It was a joke, but I really think they (the media) are pushing it a bit. I’m just so sick of it,” she told the Cape Times. Danielle says that innuendo on the show, in which she greeted fellow contestant Brigitte Willers with “Hey, sexy thing”, and other suggestive comments were in jest. “I have a good sense of humour and I made the comment very tongue-in-cheek. It was a joke. While she said that she was in support of gay rights sand same-sex marriage, she told the newspaper that “I am in a beautiful relationship with a wonderful man, and I have been for a year. I have no interest in women and I really think this is getting out of hand.”
Kevin gets the boot!
It’s undoubtedly the biggest celebrity news story of the last week: Britney Spears has finally given the boot to husband Kevin Federline. While 24 year old Britney claimed the marriage was made in heaven, fans and celebrity watchers have said all along that he was simply no good for her. Their marriage produced two offspring and seemed to lead to weight problems and disastrous fashion gaffes for the once slim and primped pop queen. Now svelte and once again well groomed, Britney seems ready to move on. Word is that she told 28 year old Kevin that she is divorcing him via text message. She’s since been seen in New York, looking like a happy new woman. The move couldn’t have come at a worst time for Kevin – he’s having a VERY bad week. He’s just released his first CD, Playing With Fire, and, as anticipated, it sold a truly miserable amount of copies – a sum total of 6000 in its first week – despite intensive marketing. He also has had to cancel concerts because of abysmal ticket sales. Britney met Kevin when he was a backup dancer, but his subsequent attempts to develop a career as a rapper have been met with ridicule. His expensive lifestyle has been funded by his wife, but this looks set to change. The not-so-dumb Britney made sure that she had an iron cast pre-nup before marrying Kevin. Apparently he will have to give back any gift worth more than $10,000 – and that includes the sports cars he so loves and the treasured custom-built motorcycle Britney gave him for Christmas. And, apparently, he won’t get a cent of Britney’s money! We could see Kevin panhandling on the streets in weeks to come! Meanwhile the once-again-sexy singer has left Manhattan to work on a new album in Miami. She’s said to be singularly focused on making her comeback on the world’s music charts. Fans are no doubt relieved that the old Britney seems set to return.
Reese and Ryan split official
It seemed like it was one of those Hollywood marriages that were set to last, but Reese Witherspoon has officially filed for divorce from one of the most beautiful men in world – Ryan Phillippe. The 30 year old Oscar-winning Reese announced they would separate two weeks ago, but this news means that the romance is truly over. Ryan is being blamed for the split – thanks to his alleged affair with up-and-coming actress Abbie Cornish. Once the separation was announced reports surfaced on bloggs all over the internet that Reese and Ryan had not been the golden couple of late that we’d imaged. Apparently the two have been seen in numerous heated fights in public places. It’s also been claimed that Ryan has for some time been openly romancing Abbie on the set of the movie that two are working on. So intense has the media scrutiny been that 32 year old Ryan felt compelled to release a statement in his defence on the break up, saying, “I’m not a perfect person, but I’m not guilty of a lot of the things I have been accused of. My priority is and always has been the health and safety of my family.” He has however not denied the claims of an affair with Abbie. Tsk tsk…
Is Elton John broke?
Elton broke? Not quite, but word is that he must tighten his belt when it comes to lavish spending. The Daily Mail newspaper in the Uk reports that the pop star faces “towering debts”. According to the newspaper, while the legendary pop star continues to earn a great deal of money, his spending is out of control. He’s been warned that should he stop working entirely he could be in a precarious position in maintaining his excessive lifestyle. This could explain why he’s so mad at his record label, Universal . Elton claims that the record company isn’t promoting his new release, The Captain and the Kid. He apparently slated the company on stage at a recent concert in New York. He’s also flogging a home fragrance collection, which includes scented candles. Oh dear, it all sounds very ‘Michael Jackson’.
