The porn giant confirmed that it is now blocking anyone in the state from accessing its popular site because of the passage of a new anti-LGBT law.

“We are appalled by the recent events that have transpired in North Carolina,” said the company in a statement.

“We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster.com does not tolerate. As of today, access to XHamster.com is blacked out in the state of North Carolina until further notice.”

The site also posted statistics revealing the “incredible hypocrisy of North Carolina”.

It claims that, so far this year, there’ve been around 320 000 views by North Carolinians in its “gay” categories and more than 491 000 views in its “she male” categories.

“Judging by the stats of what you North Carolinians watch, we feel this punishment is a severe one. We will not standby and pump revenue into a system that promotes this type of garbage. We respect all sexualities and embrace them,” said XHamster.

The state’s recently signed law removes existing municipal LGBT non-discrimination protections and prevents similar protections from being passed by cities in the future.

It also forces transgender students in public schools and universities as well as people in state buildings to use restrooms and other facilities inconsistent with their gender identity.

Last week, rock legend Bruce Springsteen showed his support for the LGBT community by cancelling his North Carolina show in protest against the law.
