Zac Efron has a few things afoot

Twenty-one year old tween sensation Zac Efron is showing off his hot-bod in the latest issue of GQ. The High School Musical star defies gravity in the shoot, posing with “the world’s luckiest parking metre.” The star has also been busy trying to squeeze a few laughs out of the American public with his guest appearance on Saturday Night Live. In a particularly homoerotic skit, Efron is taught “the birds and the bees” story by his older brother, played by Jason Sudeikis. The lesson leads to an oily foot rub, and inevitably having his toes sucked. Is this Efron’s attempt at proving to the world that he’s all grown up? Homoerotic-incest and posing half naked might not be the way to go. But heck, we’re not complaining…

Desperate Housewives loses its “finest jewel”

Nicolette Sheridan, who plays Edie in Desperate Housewives, says that the show has lost its sparkle ever since her character’s left the show. Sheridan saw it coming though. During its five year run, Edie was always just a co-star to the main foursome on the show. Marc Cherry, the show’s creator, never added her to the opening credits, despite being just as popular as the rest of the housewives. “When you have a jewel, why not polish it and put it out there for all to see?” Sheridan told TV Guide. “I think that whoever Edie represented in Marc’s life was somebody he didn’t like, and he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction.” Bitchy Cherry inevitably had a quick comeback, claiming the cut was due to financial pressure from the network and adding: “Edie’s already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could. What I won’t do is cast another forty-something sexy blonde. Nicollette performed the aging, neighbourhood tramp better than anyone has ever done before.” Ouch…

Colton Haynes: Rising star

Colton Haynes, who was considered for the role of Edward Cullen in the teen-romance Twilight, puts his smouldering boyish charms to good use in various photoshoots. The nineteen year old model and actor has appeared in episodes of Pushing Daisies and CSI: Miami. Pictures of him locking lips with another man in some shoots have sparked gay rumours, but apparently Haynes is happily in love with his long-term girlfriend. But pictures never lie, so there’s still hope boys…

Gaga has a gay old time

Lady Gaga fought off sleep and her raging gay fans as she recently performed a 75-minute set at two in the morning. The crowd gathered at the Palm Springs Convention Centre for Jeffrey Sanker’s 20th Annual White Party, and didn’t mind the late hour one bit. Gaga played her hits including an acoustic yet up-tempo version of her current number one hit Poker Face, which she told the audience is about her personal experience with bisexuality. To an enthusiastic crowd reaction, she stated the song is about being with a man but fantasizing about a woman; hence her “Poker Face.” Gaga also recently said in an interview with The Billy Bush show “I love the gay community. Like bleeding heart love the gay community… it’s a genuine love I have for them.”

Gale Harold’s first post-accident interview

After a near-fatal motorcycle accident, Desperate Housewives-star Gale Harold has returned to the role of Susan’s painter lover-boy from the past. The actor – who is also much loved for his role in Queer as Folk, said that he was overly confident the night of the accident, having ridden his Ducati for so long. He told TV Guide’s William Keck that he didn’t watch the show after his accident, because he was “a little worried about seeing something about my death delivered by letter. I just didn’t want to get surprised by something they might not have been comfortable telling me. I was fortunate that they wanted me back. I wanted the executive producer to meet my doctors so he’d know I’d be a real person again. And when I came back, I wanted it to be in the same frame of mind as Jackson.”

John Barrowman gets broody

Torchwood-star John Barrowman says that he’s desperate to become a father this year. “The other night I went to see Jason Donovan in Priscilla Queen of the Desert and I was in floods of tears watching the scenes between him and his son,” he admitted. The actor, who has been married to architect Scott Gill since 2006, is thinking about adoption at the moment. “We really would like to be parents,” he told Closer magazine. “I’m extremely broody and emotional right now.”

Beckham’s new ad exudes an Aura of pure Sex-God

David Beckham’s endorsement of Motorola’s new Aura cell phone sees the soccer-star showing off his chiselled body. The ruggedly handsome star is transformed into a half human, half cyborg Sex-God in the ad, with a sinister glowing red-eye. Maybe the marketing people didn’t quite think the decision through though, because let’s face it, who noticed the glowing red phone in front of those washboard abs?

Marilyn claims a relationship with Gavin Rossdale

Androgynous British rock star Marilyn has recently confirmed his relationship with Gwen Stefani’s rocker hubby Gavin Rossdale. “We were together five years. But it felt like 40. Gavin and Gwen are perfect for each other, but he was the love of my life,” Marilyn tells In Touch. Their relationship was first exposed in 1995 by Boy George, who talked about it in his book Take It Like a Man. However Rossdale claimed, “I wasn’t dating Marilyn. We were, and still are, good friends.” Marilyn explains why he initially pretended they’d never been a couple, “[Gavin] was just becoming successful in America. I agreed to lie against every grain of my being.” Rossdale still denies any romantic entanglement with Marilyn.

Hugh Jackman is milked for answers

Hugh Jackman, whose alter-ego Wolverine is the latest endorser of the Got Milk? campaign, dodges gay rumours yet again. In an interview with Parade, he says “I’d be happy to go and deny it, because I’m not [gay]. But by denying it, I’m saying there is something shameful about it, and there isn’t anything shameful. The questions about sexuality I find more here in America than anywhere else, because it’s a big hang-up and defines what people think about themselves and others. It’s not a big issue in Australia.”

Lindsay Lohan follows in Britney’s footsteps

Lindsay Lohan’s situation hasn’t improved since the starlet’s split from Samantha Ronson. In an interview with Ellen, Lindsay said that the break up with Sam came as a complete surprise to her: “I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn’t seen her in, like, a week. She, like, disappeared.” She also denied that she cheated on her girlfriend: “I don’t believe in cheating on someone.” Having no career or family to fall back on, Lohan has been drowning her sorrows in a sea of men. Partying every night with a different guy each time, we can’t help but pity the desperate girl. She is however trying to revive her career using her sex appeal, as she is apparently interested in joining the burle
