LGBT ‘glamping’ club launched in Western Cape
Who would have thought there were so many LGBT caravaners and campers out there?
Dorothy’s Wheels was conceived in the Western Cape around a dinner table. It all began just over a year ago, when two friends with a mutual interest in “glamping” decided to both purchase vans.
With caravans hooked to newly fitted tow bars, off they went on their first camp.
With such a keen interest and others wanting to join, Dorothy’s Wheels was conceived. Now only four months old, the group has now grown to fourteen members and has done four outings thus far.
In the process of structuring a committee, Dorothy has eleven outings planned for 2015 and the group is expected to grow even further.
One does not necessarily have to own a caravan to join the group. “DW” is open to caravaners and campers alike and, although one needs to be LGBT to join as a member, friends and family of members are also welcome on outings.
So, don your ruby slippers and join them for excitement and adventures in the outdoors. For more information, visit the Dorothy’s Wheels Facebook page.
Would love to know all about this. We would love to go camping when it is possible sometimes. PLEASE keep us informed

This is a great idea! Too bad this club is in the cape. Any LGBT clubs around the gauteng area perhaps?
Are the DW group still active and where can I join
