other_foundation_grants_trans_lesbian_2015There are just days left for lesbian and transgender organisations and individuals in Southern African to apply for grants from the Other Foundation.

This round of grant allocations, totalling R1.5 million, is open to lesbian women, transgender individuals, organisations led by lesbian women or trans people, and general LGBTI organisations that address discrimination against trans people or lesbian women.

The thirteen eligible countries from which grant applications will be accepted are Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Grant allocations will be made in a two-step process. The first step will be to submit a concept proposal. All concept proposals will be assessed by a panel of peers of grant applicants. The peer reviewers will recommend the concept proposals that will be taken to the second stage of the grant making process.

In the second stage, the recommended applicants will be invited to submit full grant proposals. The board of trustees of the Other Foundation will make final decisions about grant allocations.

Grant applications will be accepted for work that runs up to the end of September 2016. The closing date for submission of concept proposals is Wednesday, 11 November 2015. Click here to read the guidelines and complete application forms.
