In surprising results from a new study, researchers have found that chubbier men tend to have more endurance in the sack than fitter men.
Researchers from Turkey’s Erciyes University said that men with excess body fat lasted an average of 7.3 minutes while having sex, while their skinnier brothers only managed 1.8 minutes.
And the reason for this? It’s apparently because less fit men have higher levels of the female sex hormone oestradiol, which helps them keep going for longer.
Fitter men who have less of the hormone are more likely to suffer from premature ejaculation, said the researchers.
They commented that theirs was the “first prospective study that investigated the relationship between lifelong PE (premature ejaculation) and obesity,” and confirmed that “we found that patients with lifelong PE were leaner.”
It’s not all good news for larger men though; the researchers noted that obesity has been linked to an increased likelihood of suffering from erectile dysfunction.
