Ricky Martin says being a dad complicates his love life

Openly gay singer Ricky Martin has revealed that raising two boys makes it especially difficult to get close to other men.

In an interview with The Sun, the hunky star revealed that he is dating again after splitting up with his partner of almost six years, Carlos Gonzalez Abella, in 2014.

Martin, 43, said: “I meet people. I’m fine. I meet very handsome men. I like to have a conversation, looking into someone’s eyes and finding out their sense of humour. I’m not saying you have to be an Adonis, but you have to connect.”

He also admitted that he would like to get married at some point. “For me that paper is important. I also love the romanticism behind it.”

Martin went on to explain that his search for love is somewhat complicated by being a father to two boys; six-year-old twins, Matteo and Valentino, who were born via a surrogate mother.

“We’re all men. It’s in our DNA to go for it. But I have two boys and I cannot bring different men every day into my house.”
