Congrats! Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black get engaged
One of the world’s most famous gay couples are planning to tie the knot.
Tom Daley, 21, announced on Thursday that he and Hollywood scriptwriter Dustin Lance Black, 41, will get married.
The UK diving star, who’s been dubbed the “world’s sexiest man,” posted a picture of their rings on Instagram, along with a newspaper announcement of the engagement.
“HeSaidYES and then #ISaidYES ❤️Thanks for all the lovely messages!” the young stud wrote. The men have been dating for about two years.
Black also commented on Instagram: “Thank you so much for all of the kind words and well wishes. Dream come true.”
The engagement was official proclaimed in the Births, Marriages and Death section of The Times newspaper.
“The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence,” the announcement read.
Daley’s excited mother told The Telegraph that while there is a 20 year age difference between the lovebirds, “age is but a number.”
“It’s wonderful news, we are extremely happy for them. I’ll be looking at dresses and hats,” she said.
Daley, who won a bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics came out as bisexual in 2013 and then said a few months later that he actually indentifies as gay.
Black won an Academy Award for his script for the acclaimed film Milk, about the life of openly gay politician and activist Harvey Milk.
The wedding is likely to take place sometime after next year’s Rio Olympic Games
